Abubakar, GCFR, presented its 2023 General Election Report, titled \u2013 <strong>Nigeria\u2019s Pursuit of Electoral Compliance: National Peace Committee 2023 General Election Report.<\/strong> The report was presented to the public on Friday 16th February 2024, at the Kukah Centre, the Secretariat of the Committee in Abuja.\u00a0 Ahead of the presentation, the Committee held a closed-door session to discuss the current socio-economic and political situation in Nigeria.<br><br><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalpeacecommittee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/343A0728-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nationalpeacecommittee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/343A0728-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/nationalpeacecommittee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/343A0728-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nationalpeacecommittee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/343A0728-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nationalpeacecommittee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/343A0728-1536x1153.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/nationalpeacecommittee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/343A0728-2048x1537.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During this session, the committee was briefed by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu on INEC\u2019s preparations for off-cycle elections in Edo and Ondo states. In response, the NPC Chairman and members expressed their deep concerns regarding the upcoming off-cycle elections. They acknowledged the growing mistrust among Nigerians towards the electoral system and discussed strategies to rebuild this trust.
